Job Description
- Analyze project plans and specifications to understand the scope and requirements of construction projects.
- Prepare accurate cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and other project expenses using industry-standard estimating software and techniques.
- Conduct quantity take-offs and measurements from project drawings and specifications to determine the quantities of materials needed for construction.
- Solicit and analyze subcontractor and supplier bids to ensure competitiveness and accuracy in pricing.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to develop cost-effective construction methods and strategies.
- Assist in the preparation of project budgets and schedules, providing input on cost and resource allocation.
- Monitor project progress and costs throughout the construction process, identifying and addressing any deviations from the budget or schedule.
- Prepare and present cost reports, forecasts, and variance analyses to project stakeholders.
- Review and negotiate change orders and contract modifications as necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of all estimates, quantities, costs, and project-related documentation.
